Structural Designer – Corrugate Cardboard

Our Scarborough-based client, one of the largest container corrugate cardboard producers in Canada, is in need of a Structural Designer – Corrugate Cardboard to be responsible for working in collaboration with the sales team to create and produce innovative structural designs and concepts that will provide a competitive edge for the company. The successful candidate should demonstrate imaginative and innovative capabilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
• Working closely with the sales team designing drawings and modifying existing designs
• Determining box sizes
• Assisting production staff with the creation of manufacturing specifications
• Producing presentation samples using the required software
• Wrapping and shipping samples
• Ordering Stock and racking
• Operating Kongsberg table maintenance and supply ordering
• Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications:
• Recent Graduate or 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in corrugate
• University degree or equivalent College Diploma in design or a related domain
• Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Working knowledge of CAD systems and As400
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines in a creative, fast-paced environment

Compensation:
• Salary: $45-55K
• Vacation: 2 weeks
